Comfort Zone

This is particularly revealing about some aspects of comfort life in China. We started a daily maid service. She comes in every afternoon to work for few hours, cleaning the place, shopping for groceries and cooking us dinner. Every month, she gets paid less than one tenth of the money that we pay for our rent.

Standing on our 12th floor bacolny and looking down, you see the meticulously maintained landscapes. At night, when you take a walk, light music comes from all around beamed by the speakers hidden on the ground. They are the jobs of those cheap labourers like our maid from the country sides including those guards hired to safeguard the gated commnity.

I don't feel completely comfortable to have such a comfort life at the obvious expenses of other people's hard work. But it's hard to resist it. I am looking for a comfort zone mentally.
