is being perfect a perfect thing?

every body knows first lady laura bush is a former smoker. now, there are speculations that she is still a sometimes-smoker, a closet smoker or a social smoker. whatever you call her...

the rumour says they had to set up a secret room for her to smoke in on the campaign trail. to smoke is one thing, to hide the fact that she smokes another. why hiding? once she even asked a reporter for a cigarette, and of course, while the camera is not on. it's ok to have god watching, but not the people?

ironically, "new york times" commented, if people know the she is a smoker, they might have liked her more. my friend hubby fnds her phony, thinking she must have some major cover-ups, probably bigger than hiding her cigarettes.
people want to be perfect, but don't we all hate perfect people?! she is lucky to be so well-liked while she appears to be so perfect.
