i hurt my back in a deep chill

I check the weather every morning except last sunday. the sun was shinning brightly in the morning and that was deceiving. we set out for grocery shopping. I put on a light jacket to make loading easier to carry out.

that was when the city started dipping into a 2-day extreme deep chill. the trip from the parking lot to the supermarket was such a struggle. I went in and lifted sienna onto the shopping cart. lights up! i hurt my lower back. I knew i was heading for trouble. the temperature stayed at -16c from our car's dash board reading. in the evening we went for an acupuncture session. by the time we drove back home around 9pm, it was -21. a colder december 19, -24c, was in 1942!

so added to the chill, is the stiffness of my back. lying in bed is like being in heaven, which i cannot do during the day. sitting or walking is fine. only getting up to get going is a real toil. sneezing is a hazard. now i am carrying myself with an unusual poise and grace.

the good news is temperatures should moderate somewhat later this week. the bad news is those higher temperatures could bring snow with them. well, the bad news is nevertheless good too: a white christmas is somehow guranteed. just hope my back will be back to normal. i promised to make snowman with sienna over the holiday.
