dinner party not meant for the food

it's not difficult to figure out: the time spent elsewhere would the time i missed with sienna. only at the last minute, i decided to join the office Christmas party, very reluctanly.

it was the same menu but not quite the same stuff: the oysters didn't have the same degree of freshness and the peeled shrimps were pre-treated to be tasteless.

It's fun though to hang out with colleagues in a different environment. day in and day out, we've become office furniture to each other. I turned to a girl sitting next to me at the dinner table, "excuse me, what's your name?" "Karen," Karen replied. "hi, I am XX," I took a sip from the glass. "oh, I know..." Karen smiled. how?! it turned out she has been sitting on the other side of the cubicle wall since august. I saw her passing by but was never aware of her existence so close by -- true of me as all my team mates know how concentrated i could be when i work. Karen confessed that she sat there listening to all our conversations. and according to her, I am the perky "kid figure" who always comes up with crazy stories.

huh, an oblivioius geek and a crazy story teller -- somehow I have to reconcile between these two split personalities...
