let it snow, let it snow
the first real snow storm hit the city yesterday. i had that song ringing in my head all day long because my baby was all bundled up for the winter.
a little emergency situation over the weekend. we found out that her two pairs of snow pants (3T - 4T) didn't fit sienna anymore. but wasn't she a model size for her age? thanks to amy's mommy, who offered this secret place in chinatown where you can get snow pants for $7 a pair, we battled our way downtown. As it turned out, they were only $5 a pair with the best features that no others can offer. they are warm and easy to wear with a simple elastic wasitband. need i mention the price again? let's get two pairs. i did have to do some work on them though. One of the pairs was too tight on the waist so I had to install another band. i also sawed along both sides of the seams to make the lining and the surface one piece... it made me feel like such a hands-on mommy.
today, my baby will strike out in the snow with full gear: a comfy pair of almost home-made black snow pants, brand new black princess cougar snow boots and a brand new light blue london frog snow jacket, and of course, the rainbow-colored striped hat, scarf and mittens. where is the camera? and we have backup gear: a beautiful red hand-me down one-piece ski suit with black trim and zipper from the mountain co-op sports store.
so, let it snow, let it snow.
