Stand by Christ or else?

i got an email message from a friend of mine. the subject line: "stand by christ." it urges that i phone in to vote about if i would support same-sax marriage. since there is only one number assigned for "NO", i replied to ask, "where is the number for YES?" my friend in turn replied, with her usual honesty and straighforwardness, "sorry, i only need your support for NO."

opps, i missed another chance to fight for the rights of a certain social group. i have a keen sense about where the society should progress for the goodness of humanity. and i have the same keen sense about my own limitations. i know the things will progress anyways without my participation. i am only standing by. for that reason, i cannot just "stand by Christ".
