The Surreal Gift Giver
I went home last night. Sienna was wondering around the house carrying a pink bag on her shoulder, "Mommy, I got a surprise. It came from the mail with my name on it..." I corrected her, "This is from Mrs Tweedy Bird. It's for setting up a picnic." In Sienna's mind now, Mrs Tweedy Bird is equivalent of the secret gift giver. And that picnic spread really struck a chord with Sienna. She loves setting up tables for party and picnic.
Like me, Mrs Tweedy is a Canadian/Asian blogger/mother with a little only daughter. I guess because our personal profile on the internet is so similar, including the part of being crazy, we instantly became friends. We visit each other's virtual house everyday and exchange ideas about our child-raising experiences... She is such a caring, considerate and compassionate person - a natural friend I would have in real life. Upon learning Sienna's arm injury, Mrs Tweedy sent Sienna two packages as surprise presents to help her recovery. I feel indebted and grateful - Mrs Tweedy exists by far virtually to us and yet her generosity is so true and real. Or I would say, the www (world wide web) has somehow made the whole thing surreal! One day the two mother/daughter team must meet somewhere for real.
