Bird Flu Fear
In the beginning of the year,I blogged about how come there was not enough noise made about WHO's warning of a fatal bird flu. I was worried the world was not prepared for a major pandemic like 1918 which killed mor than 40 million people. Nine months later, A lot more noises have been made.
My friend Sunny, like her name, has a sunny desposition. While we were on the topic a couple of weeks ago, she said we have so much more advanced medical technology now than about 100 years ago. An pandemic will be put under control before it gets wide-spread. Like SARS, only a few people died. That was pretty comforting to hear.
This weekend, when we were talking about it again. Sunny was like, "Are you still worried?" I said, "Yeah, but I am feeling much better after what you said last time." Following her own thoughts, Sunny said, "I don't worry about these things. So many millions of people are going to be affected. Why do I have to worry?"
Unconsiously, Sunny has lifted my spirit and drop it to the bottom. Worried? Of course I am, only even more now after what she said second time around.
