In Time to Miss the Deadline
I could have whipped myself in the past few days to get myself into the tax mode. Not that I don't know the priorities. Doing income tax has been on the top of the list for the past year, the past month and especially the past week as the March 31 deadline is approaching. Therefore,I should not be doing anything else. I didn't do anything else. Nor did I do the tax. We always go to this tax lady. I still need to get the stuff ready. There isn't enough motivation to dive myself into the ocean of the paper works.
I never went to the library when I didn't have a paper to finish. I never opened a textbook when there was not an exam the next day. So even I never understood what it really means if we miss the March 31 tax deadline, I used it as a deadline anyways. Yet, that is the only kind of deadlines that I am sure to miss every year.
This has been the best March 31 ever. I actually gathered everything necessary and drove over to our tax lady's house 10pm at night. Just in time to miss the deadline. Think on the bright side, our income tax report for 2005 will be out in the next couple of day. As far as 2006 is concerned, I have high hope it won't take another year.
Our tax lady said to me, "people like you who procrastinate are well prepared!" I don't know how that makes sense except it says that she is so good at making other people feel good about themselves. I came home feeling relaxed and a weird sense of accomplishment.

Thank you very much, Min. You really reminded me of the tax thing. I almost forgot the deadline will be here very soon. I am glad I am not in Canada; otherwise, I am already a deadmeat. Over here, in NYC, the deadline will be on 04/17 (according to my co-worker).
