For the Sake of Making a Point
Trying shoes on is a different experience than actually wearing them day in and day out. This is what happened when Sienna changed her mind about this pair even though she participated in purchasing them. I understand how she feels but I maintain that she should bear the slight discomfort, especially in the beginning. With reluctance, she continues to wear them.
Yesterday, on our drive home, she told me she had a fall. There is a huge cut on her kneel that I must see when she takes off her tights, she said. I became quite sympathetic and promised to apply band-aid and do whatever it takes to make her feel better… Then she said, “Mommy, it was the shoes. The shoes made me fall.”
Now I realized that she was only trying to make a point about the shoes again. And the “huge cut” appeared to be invisible, of course.
