How Bad Can A Word Be?

Sienna went to have a play date with Olivia. When I went to pick her up, she was upsetting. Everybody around her, kids and adults, was trying to ask her questions and to cheer her up. I was going to stay for a while. Because of the situation, I asked if she wanted to come home and she came out with me. Olivia’s parents told me she became like that because of Olivia said “dumb” word. I told her she only needed to tell Olivia’s parents if she thought the “dumb” word was so bad to bear. She cannot stop someone from doing something that is not right. Worst still, she shouldn’t have been impolite herself and given everybody that face, especially when she was a guest there.

The teaching in school has a tendency of creating a sterilized environment. What’s so bad about the word “dumb”? She should get ready to hear the worse. What does she want to do is a different matter.
