The Grand Garage Sale

A garage sale is Sienna's invention, in a sense that she came up with the idea of selling her unwanted stuff straight from the house, without knowing such thing as a garbage sale. Since we decided to move, her business proposal became an absolute necessity.

Sienna collected a very few items that she didn't want sell and put aside. The rest she didn't give a darn. I went into several corners of her toy jungle and worked hours. Only whatever looked a complete piece was picked for the garage sale. None of the 40 ever glamorous Barbie dolls is sellable because they were either topless or worse. I didn't have the interesting of restoring their decency. I put them and their huge wardrobe and gave them to a grandma who would spend the time to sort them out for her 2 year twin grand daughters. So were other 10 boxes and bags of stuff. Still we had toys and games on the sale that were enough for at least two preschool classes.

None the items was sold over a buck or two. We sold while giving away. Still we made over $200. Still by the end of the day, two families came and moved away with two van-loads and one SUV-load of stuff.

This grand garage sale shows in a way how Sienna has lived her first 6 year of life in such a luxury, from my perspective.
