Much Fun on the First Day of First Grade

Our little girl went to school for the first time. It's a day that will go down our family history as one of the greatest. It wasn't going to be happening like this. It was only yesterday when we finally decided Sienna should start her Grade One for the month of September at our home school before we move to China. I am so happy we did that.

She met three girls from her preschool. All the giggling, hugging and chitchatting... Sienna was the first one to enter the classroom with her pink backpack. There were only 16 kids in the class - about 6 of them are Grade 2 kids. The parents were all gathering around their circle in the class. We stood still while the national anthem was played over the loudspeaker.

The home school is only 5 minutes walk from our house. So I went to pick her up for lunch. During that little over an hour time, I took her to buy two beautiful pairs of shoes from the Nine West and got her Swiss Chalet for lunch. Then I went to pick her up again for the day bringing home her best friend O to play with. "I had so much fun!" gasped Sienna. I hope she is not having too much fun. Else, the new school in China will prove to be a torture.
