Bringing the Princess to the Prince Island
We were on board of a ferry to the Prince Edward Island. There are counties of Queens, Kings and Prince. Apart from the names, there is nothing royal about the province. Everything is pure, primitive and precious.
The pride of the island is a woman writer who wrote a series of books describing the life on the island including "Anne of the Green Gables". People for the past century have been drawn to the haven on earth environment where the story was described to be taking place. We could see the reason when we visited the Green Gables, now a provincial park. And we could also see the reason why this woman write eventually married someone and moved to the province where we live.
Mentally, I might always ready to live a life of a farmer. In old laotzu's words, it's where you don’t see your neighbors but only hear their dog bark and crock crow. Being a realist, I understand I might never get to live like that. That's why we call ourselves farmers living in the city. With a daughter continuously referring herself as a princess, I wonder how much better a real royalty's life could be. I am not even counting my very royal day with sea food salad lunch on a patio, listing to a live musician and yet another lobster dinner.
If I were Anne of Green Gables...
the husband would still be working diligently...
