One Needs a Name in WWW
As I was examining my internet addiction, this article came out to talk just in that regard. I am pretty sure I am not seriously afflicted yet. Yet think how much fun that I miss in this whole wild world when I am stuck in the World Wide Web... The web is nearly taking over my world.
Anyway, before I create a healthy distance between myself and the web, I took another step to get closer to it. I decided to get myself a domain name that bears my own name, well, my slightly modified name.
http://www.zhengminmin.com is what it is.
I cannot believe this domain name was still not taken. My lucky stroke strikes. The phone number that I had in Toronto was so good that everybody asked me how much I paid to have it. In fact, it was the first number that was given to me by the phone company, randomly.
About my name being modified, I will have a talk with my parents one of these days. I like the name they gave me so much that I will make people sound it twice when they call me or mention about me. The husband and close friends already call me “Minmin," always. I've lost my formal Chinese character name when I changed my nationality. Now, to the wide world via the wide web, call me “Minmin” instead of “Min.”
This should be my name when the day comes and I will be of help to more people other than my family and friends, in the world or on the web. You cannot tell much in differences between these two worlds nowadays.
