A Mixed Up Day
Sienna had yesterday, Friday off after three days of exams. She needed friend to play with. We went to visit her friend’s house and the two girls went roller-skating. It was sunny mixed with drizzling. The activity could last long as we mothers were worried the ground was becoming slippery. We took the girls back to our house. They were trying to play on the Wii Fit, an extension of the game. The lady got our dinner ready to go on the table. The phone started to ring. We had promised to go on a dinner party out in the suburb. I thought it was for tomorrow. We had to let our friends go and let our friends downstairs to enjoy the whole table of food.
This is the thing. I got the text message invitation for the dinner on Thursday. The guy said “the day after tomorrow.” Since Sienna was done with school on Thursday, it felt like a Friday. I mistakenly identified the invitation to be on the Sunday and went with it. Well, well. This is what happens when you are semi-detached from the society without a job or so much of a schedule to follow.
