Keeping it Physical

You would think that kids in China working so hard with the books might not have enough physical activities. Wrong! Sienna’s school starts the day on the playground. Everybody gathers there for a 20 minutes’ of warming up session. The loudspeaker gives out instructions. They jump, kick and stretch all parts of their body. After two classes, they sit on their seats doing a special eye excises with their hands. The same eye session in the afternoon.

There are three PE (Physical Education) classes, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Sienna signed up for a chess class on Tuesday after lunch. She is the only of the two kids who take on diabolo session Friday afternoon when the rest of class choose to attend performing art, arts & crafts and science. Then there is her favorite tap dancing on Friday after school. We try to have a swimming session at the international school nearby on Sunday.

That’s quite a full package of physical activities.

  • Wow--that's a busy schedule of activities. My daughter does ballet, soccer, and Chinese. Had to take a break from piano--too busy!
