falling off the edge of reason

had a girls' night out last night with abby. we went to see "bridget jones diary - the edge of reason." liz called to say there were paintings in the movie that she was convinced were lui's. we knew they weren't but curious about what made her think that. i didn't see the first "diary". abby said, "well, doesn't matter, it's going to be silly anyways."

i didn't know it would be this horrifically silly. i used to like renee zelweger. in this "the edge of reason," she is completely falling off the edge of reason for me. in overstating her girl-next-door image, she became chubbier and even more dowdier than necessary. you wonder what would be the REASON for the wealthy and prestigious lawyer to cast any interest in her.

what's worse about the night? i took sienna with us. my poor little girl had two poor movies in row. last week, the family went to see "the Incredibles." she asked for being covered going through the violent scenes. "do you still want to go for movies?" her answer is "yes". i know it is more to the popcorns.

after all, the painting turne turned out to be john currin's, who works abby showed me a couple years ago when he appeared on Vanity Fair. that did give us a reason to go for the movie in the first place.
