boxed in by snow on boxing day
boxing day is a unique Canadian holiday following the christmas day. as the name implies, many merchandises, the leftover from Santa Claus's deliveries, you might say, are discounted to sell. it's like gifts being wrapped in boxes to give away.
I have never shopped on a boxing day. so i was determined to do so this year and i failed again. we were so boxed in by the snow. sienna was watching her new "shrek 2" DVD for the 5th time in two days. hearing her talking like the donkey in the movie, "yes, woman", i decided that we had to do something else.
we were bundled up and out to make a snowman on the front lawn. we have a snowman kit that includes two pieces of black rocks for eyes and a carrot for nose and three bottons for the suit. somehow the mouth is missing. dad joined in and finished the mouth with two nails and a red ribbon. coming back indoor, sienna had her hot chocolate and we had green tea. looking out from our lavenda scent-filled living room, we catch the beautiful sights of the snow falling and snowman smiling...
