shea butter, my best bet so far

about a year ago, i read about how one woman ended up using shea butter after her long journey searching for the right cosmetic products. i thought to myself, "geez, i hope i could find the right product for myself one day."

My latest discovery is the very shea butter! last week, i spotted a facial cream containing 100% shea butter on a drug store's shelf. 20 bucks for a 4-oz. jar. i decided to give it a try.

it's been producing a littler miracle! let's face it, my face will never look soft and smooth and silky, but it does feel that way myself all day long and all night long. this is after my experience of paying over $500 just to cover a basic set of the ultimate la Prairie products. I must say no product that i've ever used can come close to shea butter. i start to believe the unbelieveable!

i did a little research into this miraculous substance. shea butter is the oil extracted from karite tree nuts. these trees, found in savannahs of central Africa, can live for 300 years. once a year, local woman, by hand, gather the nuts, dry them, grind them and boil them to extract the precious butter. for thousands of years, they have relied on this sacred "tree of life", as dubbed by them, to beautify their skin and heal a multitude of skin ailments. how exotic-sounding!

history repeats itself. every time i try different ways, i always find the natural way is the right way. maybe i was a plant in my past life and i still have my feet planted in the soil, like this shea tree in the picture.
