Trial Watcher In Action
I needed to draft a Power of Attoney for my mother who would handle some property matters for me in China. So yesterday, I paid a visit to see my long time lawyer friend J.
J is teaming up with one of the most powerful lawyers in the country to represent one of the most notorious murderer suspects. The abduction of a 9-year-old Ceciliar Zhang had shocked the city and people were saddened and angered when her body was discovered a few months later in a ravine near Toronto. A 21-year-old visa student was held resposible. It was ruled at the preliminary hearing last week that there was enough evidence for a trial.
Because of his involvement in this high profile case, J has been getting invites to talk about legal matters on different media venues. J cannot actually talk much about the case due to a strict gag order. He is asked then to analyze the Michael Jacson verdict...
And I am the one who would help him research the A-Z of the whole trial and the saga surrounding it. What could be a better way to utilize my hobby as a trial watcher?

the suspect pleads not guilty. but the judge decided at the preliminary hearing there is enough evidence to go for a trial.
we didn't hear the motive yet, either presumed by prosecutor or confessed by the defendent. but you don't need a motive to convict someone.
By minimum, at 9:42 PM
