Singing With My Eyes Closed

The part of my learning today was to become aware of the possibility of transferring my real voice into my fake one when I step on to the high notes. The transition should however be smooth.

Three notes to remember. Firstly, there shouldn’t be any physical movement on the part of the throat. Secondly, don’t reach over to the high notes like you throw a basketball from far. The basket is right in front of your nose. The final note is the power should come from inside and below …

When I did hit the high note correctly a number of times by accident, it felt the easiest and most natural. Interestingly, the student who followed me, a 20-year-old girl, is blind. I stayed on to listen to her singing. She is an excellent singer. I think the blindness might have helped her to master her skill. Earlier on, when I tried so hard to feel it, I kept my eyes closed most of the time.
