My Association with Hockey

Working from the tenth floor, I gave up a window desk overlooking the downtown core part of what believed to be the longest street in the world. For one, it’s because I am afraid of height. For another, the spot doesn’t seem to be Fenshui perfect. Instead, I chose to sit behind a creeping-vine plant. This way, I look at my monitor while those who walk in can only see the back of it. From this super Fenshui spot, I never complain about working hard or hardly working.

Today, my sanctuary was seriously disturbed, all thanks to the hockey game played out between Canada and Russia in Torino. A computer sitting back to back to mine is connected to the cable. People walked in and out to take a peek at the live TV broadcast. Like a receptionist, I had to greet everybody several times a day. At one time towards the end, 6 tall guys basically stood right in front of me facing me. That was not any better than watching me, believe me.

I prayed the game could be over soon. But it lasted for a very long day. I didn’t pray our team should win. So the nation of hockey lost to that of Russia 0:2. My endurance of the day didn’t pay off after all.
