Taking It Easy
This morning, Sienna woke up earlier than usual -- just when I was stepping out of the house. I went back in to check on her in her room. First thing out of her mouth, she said, "I need to do my chess homework." She was going to have her weekly chess lesson today. Last night, we were talking about the chess home work that she forgot to do. "So what? Just go without doing it," this mama suggested, casually.
Also last night, the same Sienna said to me, "Mommy, I am still hungry. Can you make me some more noodles? I will go practice my piano." That's Sienna in a nutshell. She knows what she should be doing and what needs to be done. That's why it's ok that she can be encouraged to skip her homework from time to time.
