New Year’s Resolution In November
After going through all kinds of diet plans on the planet, my friend decided to give her own wisdom and willpower a try. After all, I have been a success story so far. She didn’t go into it with an announcement. All of sudden, she was talking like someone who has been practicing healthy food habit for over 20 years... In face, she only did it for 5 days. The result is remarkable: some 3 inches in on the waist and at least 5 lbs off. She didn’t starve herself but only cut on her sugar intake (candies and starch alike) and more importantly a sensible full breakfast. At the risk of being bragging, I admit she said the inspiration came from me. Being a usual wicked me, I said, “is this your New Year’s Resolution or what?” I would call and ask “where is the cheese cake we left last night?” Or “How are we doing in the food department?”
I think being a friend, you have to do whatever it takes to help your buddy. You don’t just flatter each other or give each other so-called encouragement. Sometimes what one needs is simply a kick in the butt.
