Funeral Day
Yesterday morning, our dear friend's father passed away from lung cancer. The family had long prepared for this saddest event, so the funeral followed right next day this afternoon. To make sure that I wasn't late, we arrived half an hour early. So we took a nap in the car at a mall's parking lot near the funeral home. When we went in the hall was so full we had to stand behind against the wall. It was a very civilized event. We signed our names to enter. Other than that, we weren't required to shake hands or comfort the family members, whom came in separately right before the ceremony. The coffin cover wasn't open and there wasn't a portrait of the gentleman. His oldest son delivered a heart wrenching speech describing how a great father he was to his 5 children and the best friend to his wife. It made me cry all the way… I met the gentleman a few months ago at his son's house. He was limping a little bit from his arthritis pain. I was suggesting that he use our acupuncturist. Sadly this was not the main problem.
