Familiar Voices from Far
One of my old my old college classmates recently compiled a list of 30 email addresses and distributed to us on the list. It's been a few days, I heard from nobody else on the list. I was also reluctant to send anybody anything. It's been so long and you don't know where to start...
This morning, I woke up to hear the familiar voices from what seems like nearly a quarter of a century ago -- two of them sent brief notes to acknowledge the reception of the list. I was touched and hit the "Reply to All" button. I sent my warmest New Year's greeting to all of them and signed "cheers from the chilled". After that, within a matter of a few hours, about 9 of them responded. Some of them I am still talking on a weekly basis. Some of them I have never seen since we left. Some of them I will probably never see again... Nobody said much. Just great to know everybody is alive and well.
