Talk of Astrology: Mercury Watch
On top of the trouble with FedEx, a couple of other delays and mixed-ups have been observed today. I ordered online a beautiful bouquet flowers to be delivered yesterday for a dear friend of ours. She has not been feeling well and needs to be reminded that she is loved. It didn't happen. I had to call the customer service and was told their site went down after I got an order confirmation in the email.
Another thing, my family back home is planning a road trip over the Spring Festival holiday. I was trying to get a message to Yiga currently visiting her family in China not to send my family my "red envelope" until a much later date. Yet it was already too late. She sent out the registered mail at the AIRPORT! Now I am praying it didn't get lost as they are not be home when it gets there.
With all these happenings, I curiously opened my ephemeris (the astronomical predictions of the planet movements). Guess what? The Mercury has been in retrograde since February 14! It is going backwards in the sky until March 8, 2007. It only happens 3 times in a year. This is the first time in my life that I actually felt it's impact before knowing it's happening. The traditional astrological meaning assigned to Mercury retrograde is that one should prepare for and gird themselves for unexpected delays, frustrations, and surprises in everyday life. May the flowers still on the deliver route keep us a peace of mind amidst mixed up world, now and always.
