Party Can be Any Time
Late last night, J's mom called me and asked if Sienna could come to his birthday today. She didn't plan for this. They were going away for the occasion. But the sensitive mom noticed that her son did heart for a party, which then was summoned as a surprise. She had found the right person to be part of this spontaneous event.
I rushed out in the afternoon to look for the present. She had asked for "Brain Quest No 2. for 7-8 year old". J, who is turning 5 today, is a little scholar. He reads chapter books and has apparently already mastered the No 1 of this brain series. So I grabbed the "No 1 for 6-7 year old" for Sienna who is turning 6 in a month or so, just in case she would like it too.
I could lose in a competition for staying the longest time at university. But I might win for the least books being read with the amount of the time spent being a student. That explains why, as a mother, I have not fostered much book loving habit in my daughter. I do however look out for opportunities like this.
I left Sienna at the party and came back to take care of the husband. There were 3 boys aged 5 to 7 and Sienna was the only girl. All worked out fine. And it did turn out that Sienna and I had much fun with "the Brain Quest" before the bed time.
