Garage Door Project

Things were piled up for me since I left my job. In the past week, I consumed a whole tank of gas running around the town getting things done. Meanwhile, our garage door started to act up (or stopped acting) just when the winter came back to take its revenge. The husband fixed it but he was having nightmares the whole day about the door crushing down on his little girl. So I took on our new garage door installation project.

Yiga brought me a local newspaper. I looked up the lineup of about 10 ads and picked one to call, by instinct. The guy came in about 45 minutes. He looked it and asked me, "did you just buy the house?" "No, about 4 years ago." I told him the truth. "I have been to this house and I fixed the door for the previous owner," said he. How odd! He looked like he knew what he was doing.

Today, they worked from 12 noon till 6pm. I had to be out with Abby to get the framed painting. All the way, I felt bad about how these two people had to work in the cold (around -15 degrees). I told them that I could wait till a warmer date. I gave them a heater and later a pot of hot tea. They weren't helping much. To be honest, I don't give much thought about how the homeless people sleep on the street. But when some one has to endure and suffer physically right in front of me in order to service me, it doesn't feel good even I am here to pay.
