Cost of Chocolate

"You know, it almost cost you your chocolate tonight."

"What does 'cost' mean, Mommy?"

"You pay to have things you want or you like. You were about to whine. And you almost had to pay with your chocolate if you wanted the whining. You would have lost your chocolate if you started to whine."
