Customer Satisfaction
My friend J wanted to borrow Sienna's magic car to show her friend's kid. So Daddy said maybe Sienna could go with J to her friend's house and play with that kid, supposedly of Sienna's age. That was how we planned. Yet when J got to our house, we realized she would spend the whole evening there until 11pm way. It would be way past Sienna's bed time...
Naturally Sienna cried out loud seeing her little visit being called off and her magic car being taken away. It was entirely my fault because I wasn't so sure about the time. I felt like I had to do something for a disappointed customer.
To make it up to her, I told Sienna that she didn't have to practice her piano tonight. She would still get her chocolate. She would have the time for a bubble bath... As if these weren't good enough, I even throw in this: she can skip the school tomorrow if her magic car is not back in the morning. It was a deal too good for her to refuse. She smiled. Then she said, "I don’t want to miss school tomorrow, I have ballet!" Well, at least I offered.
