A New Fan of Lang Lang

Music prodigy Lang Lang was in town. We skipped his solo concert because we weren't sure if Sienna would want to sit through the whole thing. So we went to last night's concert where he played the last portion of it. Maybe the sound of "Lang Lang" is musical in it self, Sienna was asking about him all the way through. The family of 3 didn't even leave our seat during the intermission.

We had the best seat looking over the stage on the balcony. We saw Lang Lang's hand moving magically over the keyboard. Sienna was wowed! She stood up to join the applause. She said, "Lang Lang played so fast because he prepared." I knew very well what she meant by "prepared"; it was not preparing the show kind of prepared. Her teacher Yiga tells her always to prepare the next note when she plays one.

Lang Lang followed almost the same path as Yiga -- the same much effort of their music parent, the same best conservatory in the whole country they enter at tender age, the same torment, the same dream... She had dinner with Lang Lang every time he came to our city and had many chances of shaking hands with his magical hands. Sienna would know this much better when she is older just how lucky she is to be in such a good hand.
