Naturally Bossy

Sienna was heading back to school after her privileged Christmas holiday. Regular school kids in China don’t have this break. Anyways, while she was having her breakfast this morning, she said to me,“Mommy, when I am at school, can you please take down the Christmas tree?”

“All right, we will do it together,” I responded, trying to ignore the first part of her statement,

She reiterated, “I mean, YOU will take it down when I am at school.”

I then started to protest, “Only me? No. We will have to do this together.”

Without thinking, she found a middle ground, “What about you do half it? Then, I will do it with you when I come home.”

Still, no, no, no... I am just back to my regular holiday mode after she finishes her holiday to go back to school. I am getting myself a massage and buy me new comfy foot ware, if I feel like doing anything. I am finding myself making an effort to resist her order.

I told the husband about this morning episode, he goes, “isn’t she such a natural!?”
