Bad Service
I went with my friend U to try out a new massage place nearby.
Two guys rushed into our room. One handed over a cup of water for each of us. I said, “No, thanks.” He went, “Water is very good for you.” He didn’t have to know I had my own bottle “Tibet Spring” that was taken straight from the mountains, some 5,100 meters above the sea level.
The service started. One of the boys serving my friend started his lecturing, “foot massage is very good for you. You should do it often…” I said, “Look, she’s closed her eyes. Too tired from her work. It’s better you don’t talk to her.” Meanwhile, I plugged my ear buds just to show my listening capacity was engaged.
The bad service is caused by the eagerness to sell more to you. Don’t ever try to ask any info in a store. They will talk so aggressively with forced hospitality that you could almost feel their hands are in your pause search. If you decide that you will not make a deal that day, it’s like those hands get stuck. They shut down their smile like they switch off a light.
You inevitably feel bad about the whole situation including yourself: Maybe I could be tougher and oblivous about the change of attitude. Maybe I shouldn’t have asked questions at all if I didn't made up my mind to buy. Then how would I make up my mind when I am not informed enough? I have learnt with every encounter that it’s caused by the bad service. Bad service is the price we have to pay for getting much cheaper service in China.
