The Whole 4 Kilometers
I went to pick up Sienna near her school after she had a play date with a few of her girl classmates. We dropped by a Crocs store and she took a long time to pick the jibbites for her new wrist-band from the same store. By the time we got out around 9pm, we couldn’t find a cab on the east side of the mall. I walked her over to the west side of the mall. Still no luck. So we got on a rickshaw and asked the peddler to take us to wherever we could find a cab. Half mile away, we did spot a cab with the “vacancy” sign on. The rickshaw took off and the cab driver, on his way to the west, refused to drive us the other direction. So we got on a bus that was so hot and humid and crowded. We had to get off not far from our apartment. I fought with a few other guys to grab a cab. We finally home after traveling 4 kilometers and riding all the city's available transportation means -- on a rickshaw, a bus and a cab. Good luck those Olympic champions.
