Chinese Canadian Girl in American Camp in China

Right away, Sienna started going to the camp for English-speaking kids that promised a lot of fun. An American facility in Beijing shipped over a bunch of university kids from Iowa to be the camp councilors – 9 of them for about 50 campers. Last week it was American patriotic theme because of the 4th of July. This week it's about Munchkins and magic shoes. They are in the pool for an hour everyday and have one field trip weekly. It’s not much different from the camp in North American even with its US$400 per week price tag except it’s operating from an international school right across the street from where we live. Some friends traveled back to Canada for the summer so that their kids can keep up their English. I who avoid any possible traveling found a perfect solution to keep up Sienna’s English. Talk about “there is a will, there is a way.”
