On Snow, Not On Ice
We continued our efforts of warming up to the Canadian winter. Sunday morning, I took Sienna to join Li's family for another tobaganning fun. At one point of time, she made her own body a tobagan rolling down the hill. Sienna loves snow.
Then I went to pick up Rachel for a skating session at a community center. Just to get a feel of the ice. Sienna was so excited when she saw people moving inside the rink. She thought she could slip in and slide away. "Mommy, you wait for us, Ok? We will skate for a little while." I put her on the ice with her skates and hamlet on. And I asked, "Do you want to skate?" her body froze and her head kept shaking to say "no". We met Amy and her dad there. They walked onto the rink and each went separate ways. Amy, 2 years older than Sienna, skated around like a little trooper.
I also put my skates on. But there was no way that I could stand still, or move around for that matter. I am not sure if I would want to face it or not, but it's definitely a challenge. That's what all the good Canadian parents do every weekend. I want to be a good parent. The question is, do I want to be one on ice?
