One of "A Few Good Men"
In the last hour of the year, we met a new friend, Mr. Hu. Entering the new year, we sat and listened to his life stories till the wee hours in the morning.
Mr. Hu, in his early 50's, seemed to have lived three lives out of one. He has been a coal miner, a teacher in a remote Chinese province, a student of sociology and law, a lawyer in Toronto, and now a general manager of a ink-cartridge plant in south china. His first wife passed away from illness at the age of 29. He was divorced from his second wife. And then his girlfriend of 6 months died in a car accident...
aren't these enough to get a man's life beaten up? Despite all these unfortunate tragedies, Mr. Hu is considered a fortunate winner to beat it all. He has experienced and taken in these to make himself a better person. There is a movie called "a few good men." I would say, with his vitality, maturity and optimism, Mr. Hu is one of those few good men we can find nowadays.
He is on his way back from his solo skiing trip in the Blue Mountains. I hope he will soon find his other half to continue his journey in life. He deserves, more than anybody else, a real "happy ever after".
