Sunday Brunch & Books

We didn't come home from the dinner with friends until the wee hours of the morning. So we slept in and watched TV. It was 11:30 when I started to prepare a brunch. We had some fresh oysters in fridge that needed to be cooked as soon as possible. I cut them up in uneven dices and blended them with scrambled eggs. I added salt, sake and sugar. On the heated oil, I threw in chopped onion and garlic to stir and then the whole mass of the good stuff. At the end, I laid out a blanket of chopped corianders on the pancake-like product and sprayed some white pepper.

Neither Sienna or Daddy showed any interest. So I ate. What made this "bloggable" is the quantity of it: 6 or 7 oysters as big as an oyster could be and 4 large eggs. I still cannot believe that I devour the whole thing myself. And I didn't find it filling, just plain delicious. Sienna had a bowl of noodles with more than a dozen of shrimps, egg whites and a fresh cup of banana milk-shake. She was asking for the chocolate...

By the time we finished our brunch, Sienna had watched close to 3 1/2 hours of TV. Knowing she would continue to do so and ask for more food to snack, I took her to the library. She did coloring on a desk. We picked more books of Madeline and Angelina Ballerina. We consulted a librarian about a picture book of "the Wizard of Oz" but failed to locate it. Sienna found a book herself, titled "Baby Food". It's an image collection of baby animals made of different kinds of vegetables and fruits. I found it quite amuzing too! Then she declared, "Mommy, I want to go home. I miss my Daddy."
