Bad Mother Symdrome

For the past two weeks or so, Sienna slipped and sunk into a big fat pink book that I kind of regreted buying. It's Disney's "Princess Collection" which I also bought for some friends' daughters on different occasions. On top of my problems with these princess' stories is my reservation over the bad step mother image as in Cinderalla and Sleeping Beauty. It's hard to explain to Sienna what a step mother is. Let alone there are very good step mothers. I am afraid she can easily associate a bad mother with her act of locking her daughter up. For the time being, I am not planning to stop the time-out panelty with Sienna when necessary. So I kind of just muddle through when I read those scenes and laugh at myself...
