The Food Campaign

British chef extraordinaire Jamie Oliver started a special food campaign, aptly called "Feed Me Better." He persuades local schools to ditch the processed, ready-made junk food and replace it with fresh, tasty, nutritious food, prepared from scratch every day. Using his fame, he petitions for their government to fund this basic reform.

Last week, I got a glance at his reality show "Jamie's School Dinners." It made me laugh and frown at the same time when the kids couldn't recognize fresh asparagus, chives and even cucumbers. Yet, they all raced to raise their hands when McDonald yellow "M" symbol and the "dice" Domino pizza logo were being flashed in front of them.

I am a fan of this young man and I wish I could help in any way in his efforts. He is young, youthful and cool. He is a good influence on the young viewers whose parents, in my view, are far more hopeless anyways. Somebody over here should start doing something about it too. We talk about balance in life, people should start with making balanced meals with protein, carbs and loads of veggies. I hope when Sienna reaches school year, the environment outside would get closer to what we have at home.
