Girls' Time Out and In
After the Chinese school in the afternoon, Sienna always wants to follow Olivia home for some play time. It would be a struggle if I don't let her, like last weekend.
I thought I could take advantage of this situation. I asked Olivia's parents to take Sienna home after the school. Sienna heard me talking on the phone. Before I even told her my plan, she went, "Mommy, don't forget to put my booster in Olivia's car." So, I dropped her off and drove all the way downtown to give myself some time out. Julie and I went to a store that we always wanted to go to, had some snack to eat and sat in the sun chatting.
In the evening, Dad went for a concert of a composer friend of ours. Sienna had a major melt-down as she discovered Dad disappeared without telling her. It was good Abby came by to keep us company. Her husband and son were at the hockey game. It became a girls' time to stay in.
