Santa’s Replacement

It’s all about a character that never lived and yet is so much alive. I am not talking about Santa Claus. This years Christmas is all about Cinderella. Sienna got everything that has something to do with her. After two-year's war of resistance against Cinderella, we have declared complete defeat. It's a phase -- we comforted ourselves.

  • What a little princess! Sienna is definitely in the phase of a girl's normal growing process. Next phase, she might like Barbie, and then Neopets online... And the best place for her will be Disneyland/Disney world, beach and exciting rides in theme parks. I used to try to distill some so-called intellectural, high class activities into my girls' weekends, such as visiting art museum or going to a concert. But found out that none of us enjoyed it since the girl kept on asking when we can leave. So I realized that there is a distinctive stages in child's growing process, and they deeply favor certain things during each stage. There is nothing or little we can do to change it. Then why bother to change it. I think they will grow into the stage when they start to apprecaite art and music. So meantime, I am just singing the tone of Christmas song with the words of "let it be, let it be, let it be..."

  • thnanks for the heads up, my friend. Sienna has a big collection of about 20 barbies from a friend's daughter who never really liked Barbie. And she is already on the Neopets site with her older friends. but it's hard to get her to do anything outdoor. it would be a big task to get her on these theme park rides. when it comes to art museum, i myself would have problem falling asleep. but sienna is excellent at concert though which we have been to so many. so i agree there are different stages. but there are huge differences between kids. just how wonderful to observe...
