the First Piano Lesson

We decided we are going ahead with Sienna's piano lessons. Yiga happens to have an opening slot around Saturday dinner time. Sienna could be her last student of the day. It couldn't be a better timing because we usually have our Saturday dinner together wtih Yiga's family.

Even though the date was picked as if by accident, we certainly put a lot of thoughts and I had a lot of talks with Yiga before it. Sienna was super good at her first lesson. That's all I have to say for now.

After the lesson, we had a dinner party with a couple of families. Their kids are all Yiga's students. I got a green tea mosse cake. Lui put a blue piano on the top. For Sienna, as I announced, this was a party to celebrate her first piano lesson. It's the same idea of having a wedding as a token of enjoyment and commitment. For the rest of us, it was just another fun party with no specific reason. At the end, again, it was gathering and singing around a piano. Sienna did her first performance. First she played her "twinkle twinkle." And then the happy birthday tune. She finally found all the right keys for it, all by herself and played it all out in one breath.
