A Thing of the Past
We let Sienna take pictures using a digital camera when she was 3 and half years old. A few months ago, we swtiched to a heavier Cannon G6. Now we are reluctant to let her touch the camera. Yesterday, she asked if she could have a camera. "It doesn't have to have a flash. But I don't want a toy one." So I dug out a real camera and gave it to Sienna.
A few years ago, we paid close to $400 for a new technology in the States and "sneaked" across the border. It turned out to be one of the worst purchases we have ever made. After using about 5 rolls of films, a digital camera came quickly to replace it.
Yesterday Sienna took over the camera and started asking questions, "where do I see the picture?" "how come the button doesn't make noise?" "where do I put in a new battery?" I realized a product that is slightly older than Sienna's age is already a piece of antique for her. What an exciting age we are living in!
And, speaking of a real camera, I think I know what we should get her for her 5th birthday.
