Celebrity Encounters

The business part of the trip took us half a day to deal with. It could have been dealt with through an international currier service. In any case, we wanted to find some motivation to move around.

After that, we came to visit Grandma in Tianjin. One of Lui's friends runs the "show business", literally. His company organizes big shot actors and actresses to have tours around the country and charges people big bucks. He is so busy that our meeting with him would have to be made together with his work. This gave us a chance to mingle with those celebrities. Some of them I know since I was a child. But some of them, like this guy... When we were introduced to him, I whispered to Lui, "I think he is an author of some sort." He turned out to be someone like Tom Honk in Hollywood, or at least Alec Baldwin. We, strangers from Canada, really need to rub our eyes to see whom we meet as we rub shoulders with these celebrities.
