Kites Lying Flat

Kites were lying flat on our living room floor today. They didn't get to fly.
Sienna has been waiting for a day like this for almost all year round. And it was part of our deal about going to fly the kite after the piano practice. I broke the promise because a couple computers were broken in the house. In fact, one of the PCs is completely crashed. This situation can be compared to that of furnace being broken down in the middle of the -30c winter. We made a wrong diagnosis thinking the motherboard was down. Got a brand new one and found it was the electricity. My friend came to help. His daughter C was playing with Sienna. Then we had to go out for dinner together.

I felt guilty at first. On the second thought, aren't we raising a kid for the real world? In real world, you sometimes cannot keep a promise and people break promise on you, due to all kinds of circumstances. When it happens, deal with it. You learn how to understand the circumstances. You see, lessons to be learnt here.
