Conditional Privileges

Sienna caught some nasty bugs. She had a fever and stayed at home yesterday. I told Sienna except food, shelter and clothing, everything else is privileges that we could live with or without. Being sick gets all her privileges in place, unconditionally, it seems. No piano practice. Watching TV almost all day long. Today, she had to go to school because it's their pajama day of the year. I went to pick her up over the lunch, she didn't want to come home. All the girls surrounded her and won't let go of her. By the time I picked her up around 4:30, She was so tired and fell asleep in the car. At night, we went to a concert by a blind pianist. I gathered 5 kids and their mothers to have this semi-compulsory outing. At night, we had good news from far. It has been a fabulous year for Daddy career-wise. In turn, everything works to ensure a privileged life for our little girl. I just want her understand things are nevertheless conditional except our love for her.
