Not to Expect Sweetness

Two nights ago, a recently separated couple invited me to join them for a drink together at a near by restaurant. I consider this my honor. Last week, I was over the wife's new residence while the husband was visiting. They clearly enjoyed my company. Whatever I said might have suited both of their common taste. So they asked me out again.

I ordered my favorite Guinness and started throwing out opinions. Even I am a purposeful person, I don't intend to bring them back together or further push them apart. My purpose, if any, is to be part of the human interacting process and hopefully help them understand each other better. That is totally needed no matter what they decide to do with each other.

It's easy for us to conclude that a relationship is no longer sweet enough to keep. Yet, a marriage depends mostly on how much bitterness we can tolerate to compensate the lasting sweetness.

For me, I don't like juice. Don't expect juice on my table every meal. Don't believe juice will do me any good. That pint of Guinness is precious and real, creamy and bitter, yummy, yummy!
